Delbert W. Hemmer

Delbert W. Hemmer, 76, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:20 P.M., Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Delbert was a retired tractor-trailer driver for Coca Cola Co. with 49 1/2 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Du Quoin, Crusaders Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Du Quoin Senior Citizens.
Delbert was born May 29, 1925 at Du Quoin, IL the son of William and Mary (Wendling) Hemmer.
He married Betty L. Davis on January 26, 1946 at Morganfield, KY and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two daughters- Marla McNulty and husband Ron of Du Quoin, Debra McMurray and husband Gary of Du Quoin, four grandchildren- Michael McNulty of Florrisant, MO, Jason McNulty of St. Louis, MO, Danny McMurray of Du Quoin and Dana McMurray of Du Quoin, two brothers- Wilbur Hemmer and Edward Hemmer both of Du Quoin, four sisters- Marcella Hayes of Pinckneyville, Marie Mozi and Patsy Wheatley both of Du Quoin, Betty Graff of Carterville, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 13, 2002 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Carl Mesiti officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.
